We do this for an hp4000. Here is the entry we use in /etc/printcap:
aihm5000|:
:lp=aihm5000.xxxx.xxx%9100:
:mx#0:rw:sh:
:ps=status
:af=acct
:lf=log
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/aihm5000
:fx=flpv
:ifhp=model=hp4000
:if=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
# :of=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ofhp
:as=|/usr/local/libexec/filters/acct.pl start
:ae=|/usr/local/libexec/filters/acct.pl end
