I've just installed version 3.7.1 on a sparc. When printing to a SunOS 4x machine I get the following in the que and then the job is reject as you see it only gets 0 bytes. misgen1 is ready and printing Rank Owner Job Files Total Size active user 342 .login, .login 0 bytes I find it strange about the ".login, .login" part. A normal print job that goes through from a non LPRNG 3.7.1 machine looks like this: Rank Owner Job Files Total Size active user 829 .login 4630 bytes We were able to print with version 3.5.1 (that was installed by someone no longer with us). It appears some SETUID magic is being done which allows the printjob to go through. SETUID part when printing from LPRNG machine to SunOS machine from lpr debug: misgen1: Find_fqdn: host 'salaiis', host_ent 0x0 misgen1: Find_fqdn: gethostbyname returned 0xcbedc misgen1: Find_fqdn 'salaiis': returning 'salaiis.coat.com' misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: Before RUID/EUID 1953/0, DaemonUID 1, UID_root 1 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: After uid/euid 0/0 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: Before RUID/EUID 1953/0, DaemonUID 1, UID_root 1 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: After uid/euid 0/1953 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: Before RUID/EUID 1953/0, DaemonUID 1, UID_root 1 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: After uid/euid 0/0 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: Before RUID/EUID 1953/0, DaemonUID 1, UID_root 1 misgen1: seteuid_wrapper: After uid/euid 0/1953 misgen1: cleanup: done, doing killpg then exit(0) I'm guessing that this is needed to print to our older SunOS BSD LPD machines. Is their a way to get this done in 3.7.1 or newer or am I completely on the wrong track. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
