Hello all,

today we got our new Lexmark Optra T614. Finally after some operator panics(..)
i found out how to tell it what tray is to use to print.
By the way, printing is done by writing to port 9100 of the printers' nic.
But : This printer doesnt seem to support PJL TEOJ - at least it returns
end of job and the printer is still busy. Quite annoying - lpq says printer has
finished, but you've still to wait.
I found a workaround for postscript jobs (enabling enginesync in ps_init),
but what about PCL/PJL jobs submitted by Windows clients?
Lexmark support isn't very helpful - their response wasn't qualified:
They don't know what happens if i write to THEIR nic's Port 9100, using
JetDirect isn't recommended, it's even bad (and will perhaps cause find myself
being hung with a parallel printer cable?) and i should use LexPort and blah.
So no help from lexmark. Perhaps anyone found a work around for this ?

        Thanks,
                Andre
(lexmark does not want their printers to be used in enviroments where
page accounting is a must?)
