Just thought I would let people know that having upgraded the firmware
on
my HP 1600 's JetDirect card to A.05.05 it now works ok from LPRng 3.7.4
.
I posted a message about this back on the 13th March.
I upgraded the firmware using "HP Web JetAdmin" software, which I
managed
to install on a Caldera 2.4 Linux machine by pretending it was Red Hat
6.2.
By the way, on the HP web site don't look for firmware upgrades for
your printer
model number, you won't find any, you must put in the JetDirect card
information, which
the JetAdmin software will find for you once it is up and running. It
will also find
out which firmware upgrades are available for download from the HP site
which is quite
neat.
