lp/lpr (usually) sends jobs to a spooler, the spooler then may
filter the job. This business of -o2 or -o4 is passed on to
whatever actually does the filtering.

The two filters I've used with LPRng are magicfilter and apsfilter.
One of these is actually just a big shell script. If that filter
doesn't understand the -oN business, you could edit the shell script
and add the capability. Most of the filtering seems to be dependent
on the contents of the job, as determined by the UNIX file command.
