There's an HP 8550GN on our network. I've run it against various ifhp
versions including the very old CTI-ifhp and the newer ifhp with the
last version being 3.3.16.
When they try to print we get:
ofhp WARNING - printer status code 40038 - toner low at May 14 10:48:01
Doing a "truss" of the daemon shows it looping round and retrying the job
for most of the daemons but the 3.3.16 just gives up immediately.
This printer has worked fine when the toner was full so I'm guessing that
the ifhp filter is assuming that "40038" is a fatal problem. Unfortunately
it isn't as the printer will still print fine and will get a few more sheets
out of the very expensive toner cartridge.
Is there something I need to do to persuade ifhp to run the toner until its
dead?
