Sounds like a generic problem with Tektronix-Xerox printers. We
have a Phaser 750 after having eternal problems with the network
connections to an older Phaser 560. I can't get IFHP to work
reliably with the 750 using ports 9100 and 9101 (it hangs and
gives incorrect page count), but what DOES work is using smtp
to get the page count. See sourceforge

 http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/

the package is easy to install and has some ready-to-use scripts
for getting page counts, etc., from a printer.

Using a bounce queue to forward the print job to the LPR port
of the phaser seems to be simpler and faster than using ports
9100 and 9101. The printer can send you an eMail with the exact
number of pages printed AND the consumables used for the job.
I assume this is true of the 2135.

This is based on my limited experience with 3 Tek Phaser printers
on our particular network. Maybe you can use some of the
information. I really like the printers otherwise, so the
hassle with the software is worth it.
