Hi everyone,

I have a server machine which act as a printing server
with several queues which pass jobs to networked printers.

Schema:
                   hostname=psersver
************      *******************        lp1
* Client 1 * ---> * Printing server *-------------> printer1
************      *******************     |
                    ^                     |  lp2
                    |                     |-------> printer2
************        |                     |
* Client 2 *---------                     |  lp3
************                              |-------> printer3

On the server:
     - LPRng v3.6.26
     - Magicfilter v1.2

On the clients:
     - LPRng v3.7.4

# Server printcap:
lp1|lp:
 :cm=HP4000n
 :lp=:
 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp1:
 :rm=hp4000:
 :rp=raw:
 :lpr_bounce:
 :pw#80:
 :pl#72:
 :px#1440
 :mx#:
 :filter=/etc/magicfilter/ljet4m-filter:
 :af=/var/spool/lpd/lp1/acct:
 :lf=/var/spool/lpd/lp1/log:
 :[EMAIL PROTECTED]:

# Clients printcap:
lp1:
 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp1
 :rm=pserver
 :rp=lp1

The idea obviously is to keep all the clever stuff in one place
so it is easy to manage.

The problem:
************

There is no problem if I print a postscript document from clients or server
(filter is not used).
There is no problem if I print a text file from the server (filter is well used),
but it's impossible to print it on clients (filter is not used!!!).
I try to use ifhp too, but the problem is the same....

I need your skills, please.....
