I have problems with printing extended characters like � � etc.
Sometimes I got a print, but in most cases I just get one page with only one
line and severall empty pages. When I remove the extended characters
everything prints fine.
I examined the queue, the spoolfile is identical as the text I print.
It looks like there is a filter that does something with the extended
characters, but the problem is I don't know why.
I made a text file like:
testpage
�
�
I printed that page, the first time the printout is OK, the second time and
all other times there is just a page with testpage on it and nothing else.
My problem is that the printer sometimes print and most cases it does not
print.
I tried severall printers HPlaserjet 5 , hpLaserjet 4, hplaserjet 6 but all
of our printers give the same problem.
The linux server I use is installed standard from the redhat CD-rom as
server.
I am using redhat 7.1 with LPRng 3.7.4-22 from the redhat 7.1 CD
I have tried textprinter, rawprinter and HPlaserjet 4.
