I never used entry "/dev/null" ... and accounting works fine. I still use
LPRng-3.5.1 and ifhp-2.2.8 on RedHat 6.2 server. 2 or 3 years ago when
I first installed the LPRng, the system find that printer attached, is
raw@zbi (?! ... zbi is nickname for zbi.ee, which also works as DNS
server). In the hosts file printer is: laser4m.zbi.ee
##PRINTTOOL3## LOCAL ljet4 600x600 a4 {} LaserJet4 Default {}
lp|raw@zbi
:sd=/var/spool/lpd/lp
:mx#0
:sh

:cm=HP LaserJet 4M Plus
:lf=log
:rw
:ps=status
:af=acct
:lp=laser4m%9100
:if=/usr/local/lib/filters/ifhp -Tpagecount=off,forcepagecount=on,infostatus
=off,quiet=on
#
