You are probably sending a file that is too large and the
printer print spooler barfs on it.
You should use the appsocket approach and send it to the
print engine:
printcap for 'spooler' on printer:
lp:lp=queue@host:....
printcap for 'appsocket' connection to printer:
lp:lp=host%port:.... (HP this is host%9100)
