Use a filter script for that. I enclose a sample.
Set the printqueue to lp=/dev/null
Set the if: option to if=<path_to_filter>

test|test:\
        :lp=/dev/null:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/test:\
        :lf=/var/spool/lpd/test/log:\
        :af=/var/spool/lpd/test/acct:\
        :if=filter:\
        :la@:mx#0:\
        :tr=:cl:sh:

printer|printer:\
        :lp=<Printer_Ip>:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/printer:\
        :lf=/var/spool/lpd/printer/log:\
        :af=/var/spool/lpd/printer/acct:\
        :la@:mx#0:\
        :tr=:cl:sh:

write a filter that looks like:

#!/bin/sh
time=`date +%y_%d_%h_%H_%M_%S`
cat > /archiv/$time.prn
lpr -b -P<printer name> $time.prn

This will write the printjob into the ARCHIV folder(Check permissions!!!) and
prints it at your printer at the same time
Good Luck

Betreff: LPRng: Keep job copies

I would like to keep a copy of the printed jobs (and not in the spool queue,
in an other place).

Could someone give me the correct printcap options to do this ?
(I'm afraid to do tests, because my printers users ares very nervous (less
since we use LPRng, because now they are able to print, but still
nervous;-)))

Thanks.
