In the /etc/lpd.conf, enable longnumber: # default logger_timeout=0 (INTEGER) # Purpose: use long job number when a job is submitted # default longnumber@ (FLAG off) longnumber # Purpose: device name or lp-pipe command to send output to # default lp= (STRING) This uses 6 digits for the job number... Of course, if want more than 999999 then you have to use longlongnumber.... but I digress.
