Since I spend so much of my time whacking on HP, I feel that I must also give credit where credit is due.
I just got an HP LaserJet 2200, read the little instruction book (RTFM :-), turned the power on, held down the UNLABELLED buttons (sigh...) and read the network card configuration, set up DHCPD to set the IP address, repowered up the printer. Pinged printer, ran test pages (PostScript and PCL). This was amazing - it worked first time... Of course, the /cdrom/english/docs/guide/guide.htm It turns out that the link names have the form 'ChapterXX' while the file names have the form 'chapterxx'. But so what - NOBODY reads the documentation. By the way, the PDF of the document file is readable... I can't help it... SOooooo close... Sigh... Perhaps somebody could try reading the CDROM documentation on a UNIX system?
