I have installed and setup Linux Print Server using LPRng with about 600 printers. This has worked for me with no problem, except when I increased the number of printers to over 1500.
I have a script the updates the /etc/printcap file and then runs checkpc -f. All seems to be ok until it starts processing printer number 1018 when I get the following error: 2001-12-19-16:21:25.263 print-server-name printer-name: Open_dgbm: open of DB file 'db.printer-name' failed, File open error. It appears any printer that comes after 1018 entry will not be processed. Has any one seen the above problem? By the way I am using LPRng version 3.7.4.
