Hello !!

Probably this question has been answered here many times, but I could
have not found any of these answers while searching through the mailing
list archives. I try to print from lprng client (R.H. 7.2 Linux, intel
platform, lprng version LPRng-3.7.4) to a printer attached to a Sun`s Solaris 2.5.1
(SPARC
platform) - nothing comes out of the printer (HP Laser Jet 6MP) - all
other systems on the network (Solaris 2.5.1, Win NT 4.0 through SAMBA, Tru64
UNIX, R.H. Linux 6.x) can print to the printer without any problems.

Below is what logs on Solaris 2.5.1 print server show for each print request:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
01/15 11:38:18 c 5606 pc21 request creation failed (cf: 79 bytes): No such file or
directory
01/15 11:38:18 c 5606 pc21 TLIWrite(connection) : orderly release indication
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is my /etc/printcap on a print client:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hp:\
        :sh:\
        :ml=0:\
        :mx=0:\
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/hp:\
        :af=/var/spool/lpd/hp/hp.acct:\
        :rm=zpk3.u.lodz.pl:\
        :rp=hp:\
        :bk:\
        :control_filter=/usr/share/printconf/util/strip_control_file.sh:\
        :lpd_bounce=true:\
        :if=/usr/share/printconf/util/mf_wrapper:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During printer`s configuration I`ve had a possibility to choose "Strict
1179 Compliance" option (in a gui configuration utility) and that`s just
what I did.

This is the job control file saved with "save_when_done" option enabled
in /etc/lpd.conf.

At this moment I`m completely stuck so I would appreciate any suggestions
(maybe except replacing sun`s lpd with lprng :)).
