Basically, the answer is 'no'.  You can, however,  have a 'client side filter'
(i.e. - run by lpr) that can open /dev/tty and read stuff.

A SNEAKY way to do this is to alias your lpr command to something that will
open a graphics window,  get the options,  and then fling them to the
real printer.  See GLPR for a good example.
