Interesting questions...
Hmmm... Lpr goes through convulsions to make sure that the file
is read as 'user', so if an application running as user creates it,
then if the application forks/execs 'lpr' is should be able to read it.
The only exception to this is when the application is setuid XX, and the
application does a seteuid(XX) and creates the file so that it is owned
by XX (or is setgid XX, etc. etc.).
This later behaviour is 'good' if the user is to keeps their mitts
off the file (YEA!!!) and 'bad' if the user wanted to print the file
(BOO!!!).
