I've had success using the following setups:

----
If you only want to disable the console message for one printer,
in that printer's printcap entry:

lp
  :ifhp=pjl_console@
  :filter=<ifhp_install_path>/ifhp

----
To disable the console message for all printers, modify your
$sysconfdir/ifhp.conf file, changing the line
pjl_console
to
pjl_console@

----
My personal favorite (I like the message during the print job,
but want it cleared out after printing), modify your
$sysconfdir/ifhp.conf file, commenting out the line:
pjl_done_msg = Done: \%s{n} \%s{J}:\%s{P}

=====
My experience is mostly on HP-UX 10.20 and 11.00, using ifhp-3.5.3.

FWIW.....Steve

Subject: LPRng: Printer display

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to suppress the printer display of an HP4Mplus?

e.g. When I print a job it puts my username on the fascia display

Nick
