Your question got me curious, even though I do not use lprng. I grabbed the ppd files for the 7700 from xerox's site at:
ftp://ftp.tekcolor.com/ftp_dir/7700/W9PCNT2000W3O2/NA/7700apps.exe (it is a self-extracting zip file, so unzip will work on a unix box.) Based on that I'm virtually certain that cups could do the accounting you want. I don't know whether lprng can, but if not it is a limitation of lprng rather than of the printer. -JimC ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. For the impatient, to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with: | example: subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest [EMAIL PROTECTED] unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
