Hmm, what's your configure string look like?  Mine is pretty complicated
because I need to follow lots of FS standards.

        ./configure --disable-kerberos_checks --with-groupid=lp 
--with-lockfile=/var/run/lprng/lpd --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc/lprng 
--exec-prefix=/usr --libexecdir=\$${exec_prefix}/lib/lprng  
--mandir=\$${prefix}/share/man --disable-gdbm \
        --with-unix_socket_path=/var/run/lprng/socket
