1. In the printcap entry, set the 'database' debugging on.
   This should enable the permissions checking to dump traces.

  :db=database
  :lf=log        [log file is there by default]


2. Enable trace during lpr requests:

  :db=database,lpr

3. More INFO!  More!

  :db=database+2,lpr+2

The LPD server will put trace information in the log file
