The only entry that looks like it might be ok is the canon lbp 4+, however that's quite a different animal from the lbp 1000... which is a descendant of the 400/600/800 series.
I'm using the pxlmono ghostscript device - is this what you're referring to? I know that ghostscript is trying to print to /dev/lp0... but I suspect that's not what you're asking me! |-----Original Message----- |From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of |Patrick Powell |Sent: Tuesday, 5 March 2002 08:55 |To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] |Subject: Re: LPRng: idiot check on a canon lbp 1000 | | |> From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 2 20:39:07 2002 |> From: "Chris Herrmann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> |> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> |> Subject: LPRng: idiot check on a canon lbp 1000 |> Date: Sun, 3 Mar 2002 14:39:22 +1100 |> |> Hi all, |> |> I've just setup a Canon LBP 1000, and think I've got it all |running ok... |> (think, because it's Sunday afternoon, and the server & |printer are over the |> other side of Sydney)... |> |> I'm using Ghostscript to print to the printer, using the |pxlmono driver |> (recommended by linuxprinting.org). |> |> I ran the lprsetup.sh script to create the appropriate directories & |> printcap entries... so now what I have looks like: |> |> |> pxlmono|Canon LBP 1000:\ |> :lp=/dev/lp0:\ |> :sd=/var/spool/lpd/pxlmono:\ |> :lf=/var/spool/lpd/pxlmono/logfile:\ |> :af=/var/spool/lpd/pxlmono/acct:\ |> :if=/usr/share/ghostscript/filt/direct/pxlmono/gsif:\ |> :mx#0:sf:sh:rs: |> |> When i print the dreaded test print page from a winslows 2k |box... i get a |> heap of stuff (much more than if I print to an lj1200, for instance). |> |> LPR 3.8.8, GS 5.5 |> |> or is there an ifhp driver I can use for this printer? |> |> Thanks, |> |> Chris | |Check in the /etc/ifhp.conf file. If you see the Cannon LBP in there, |then you should be able to use it. | |On the other hand, check to see what GhostScript 'output |device' is being used. |You can then add/modify an existing IFHP Cannon entry to use |the appropriate |driver. Once you find the appropriate one, send me email |and I will update the IFHP entries. | |Patrick Powell | |--------------------------------------------------------------- |-------------- |YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST |The address you post from MUST be your subscription address | |If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests |or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body. |For the impatient, |to subscribe to a list with name LIST, send mail to |[EMAIL PROTECTED] |with: | example: |subscribe LIST <mailaddr> | subscribe lprng-digest |[EMAIL PROTECTED] |unsubscribe LIST <mailaddr> | unsubscribe lprng [EMAIL PROTECTED] | |If you have major problems, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] |with the word |LPRNGLIST in the SUBJECT line. |--------------------------------------------------------------- |-------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body.
