Dirk has a couple of other things that are interesting as well.

pracct - Printer access control

pracct is a printer accounting program to be used together with
LPRng. It uses LPRng's accounting mechanisms to grant or deny
permissions to LPRng driven printers based on user names, groups
and times. It is especially useful for schools and universities
where computer labs are public accessable outside the lecture times.
In these cases printing can be restricted to course times and course
attendees.

prqd/prquota - Print quota enforcement

prqd is a print quota enforcement package to be used together with
LPRng. It uses LPRng's accounting mechanisms to grant or deny
permissions to LPRng driven printers depending on the number of
pages a user has already printed. If a user has reached the
pagecount limit, further printing is denied.

Printing

psonly (get PS contents from print-job)

When creating PS print output using Windows printer drivers PCL/PJL
instructions are prepended and appended. If one wants to use PS
related tools (i.e. pstops) the PCL/PJL commands must be removed.
This can be done using the psonly filter.

Yalc (yet another lpr client)

Yalc provides the programs klpr, klpq, klprm and klpq for 32-bit
Windows platforms. The primary goal was to make them compatible
enough to run printop. There is much more documentation about this
package available at the yalc homepage.
