I've now downloaded the source for gcc2.9.3, recompiled and installed. Then recompiled LPRng and it still segfaults. In the same way. It may have something to do with the HyperSPARC CPUs in the machine. gcc2.9.3 has problems with 64-bit SPARC. I've downloaded gcc3.0.4 and am currently building that; though the "fine print" on that version also says it has problems with 64 bits. I'm currently bringing the system up to the recommended patch levels. It's going to take some time... If that doesn't fix it, then I'll have to figure out how to force gcc to generate LPRng for a 32-bit CPU. :-( -- /"\ Bernd Felsche - Innovative Reckoning, Perth, Western Australia \ / ASCII ribbon campaign | I'm a .signature virus!
