Hi, I have two software packages for controling printing in a public student computer room: - pracct Grant print permission based on time tables. Simply to install, requires no additional software packages (i.e. libraries). http://et.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause/Download/pracct.tgz - prqd Print quota enforcement, http://et.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause/Download/prqd.tgz requires dklibs package from http://et.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause/Download/libs.tgz and GNU database manager from ftp://ftp.informatik.rwth-aachen.de/pub/gnu/gdbm/gdbm-1.8.0.tar.gz Install gdbm first (if not already present), then the libs, last prqd. Many Linux distributions already have gdbm installed, check for libgdbm.a or libgdbm.so in /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib. The dklibs, pracct and prqd are described on my homepage at http://et.fh-schmalkalden.de/personen/dhp/krause , see "Software". For installation in general ask a local UNIX/Linux guru to help you, if there are problems specific to dklibs, pracct or prqd please feel free to ask me.
