Almost. For the Phaser 5400, there must be a way to CLOSE the original TCP
connection to the printer for waitend/status queries to work.
BTW: The patches I sent back must be opened with printcap entries as follows.

:ifhp=model=phaser5400,dev=printer%9100
:lp=/dev/null
If you use :lp=printer%9100, lpd holds open a TCP connection the printer,
which will keep the job from ever reaching the "finished" state and
pagecounter updating.
(I consider this to broken behavior on the part of Xerox. You may form your
own opinion on the matter.)
