hello all,
I've noticed that jobs sent to printers equipped with an LCD panel (i.e. HP
5si), will print username/file info:
Done: root /etc/hosts
I've been asked to disable this feature. Why ... you ask? Because the PC
users who spool their jobs through a W2K box and not my LPRng system never
see this LCD output change when their jobs are printed. Do there jobs print?
Yes! Does it really matter if the LCD still says: Done: root /etc/hosts? No!
Do I need to fix it anyway? Yup! Go ahead and laugh.
I've looked at the lpd.conf file and the ifhp.conf file and I'm not sure how
to turn this off.
thanks
errol
