I am completely perplexed by the following behavior (LPRng 3.8.12):

irene> lpc -Pxxx reread
Printer 'xxx@localhost' - cannot open connection - Permission denied
Make sure the remote host supports the LPD protocol
and accepts connections from this host and from non-privileged (>1023)
ports
irene> lpc -Pxxx@localhost reread
lpd server pid 17548 on irene.cit.cornell.edu, sending SIGHUP

My lpd.conf does not disable the default 'force_localhost' setting.
