Hi,

We have nightly script running on our HP-UX box that generate reports that
are sent to various network printers which are using LRNG.

For example our reports are created and we send the following command:

 lp -djndlzr0 file1 file2 file3

The only problem is that if for example file3 is zero length in size the
script hangs as lp isn't exciting because it is waiting for incoming data. I
have replicated this via the command line as well.

It works fine when printing one file that is zero length in size..

We can always put some added some test in our scripts to check for zero
length files, or separate the one lp statement into multiple, so that this
doesn't occur, but I wanted to see if there is any setting that can be used
in the printcap file such that zero length jobs are ignored when multiple
jobs are sent.

Regards
