Dear Clever People,

I have been trying to set-up printing from win XP through my linux/lprng
print server. Not having much luck.

What I figured should work was:

Add Printer/ Local/ Create Port [TCP/IP, LPR, print-server's DNS name, queue
name of printer] / ...
Driver: generic? or proper one? (HP 4000)

(Apologies - I am doing this from memory, don't have the XP box here)

But this fails - print jobs disappear with no trace.

If anyone has done this, I'd love to know where I went wrong.

thanks
Glen
