The behavior I've seen with our HP printers here:
Is duplexing enabled?
YES: pagecount reported = # sheets ejected * 2
NO: pagecount reported = # sheets ejected

This is the case on our LJ8100 and LJ4100. We don't have any other HP printers with
duplexing options installed right now. FWIW: our Xerox printers get this right...
