I'm currently attempting to move away from our rather old print server
(2.2.x kernel running LPRng-3.6.26) to a newer box with a more up-to-date
distrobution (2.4.x kernel, running LPRng-3.8.15). I've run into a bit of
a problem.

Whenever I attempt to switch over to the new server, the first job to each
printer usually prints okay. All subsequent jobs are simply removed from
the queue as they are added to it.

Here are the details for the log file attached.

Client system is running SCO with the standard lpsched, printing via a
'remote' script doing an rcmd to the print server, running an lp -d XXXX
-, and piping the data through it. It works perfectly on the older
server.

The printcap for this printer (2802) on the new system is:

.common:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
.cq208:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:tc=.common
2082:tc=.cq208

The remote system (10.10.2.208) which the jobs are being passed to is
running LPRng-3.8.2 with the printcap:

2082:lp=/dev/ttyR2:sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P:fq:br=9600

The jobs never make it that far.

The log file attached is a level 1 debug doing several "banner test | lp
-d 2082" commands on the SCO client.

Thanks,
