Hi Ashley,
I am having a problem printing large (eg. 70+ pages) jobs to a Lexmark Optra T622:(below output is with ifhp set to debug level 4)
[...]
[...]Then, because the job didn't finish successfully, the job is retried from the beginning. I've tried tweaking a few settings based on comments made in similar sounding posts, but no good. And it always seems to die after 90 seconds. Here's the printcap entry:
We had the same problem here with a (quite old..) HP Color LJ 5MP -
The solution is not to tweak lprng but the printer settings.
Try to find "TCP timeout" setting at your printer. With our 5MP its
factory settings default to 120seconds -- to short for long jobs when
there is no further ifhp-traffic.
I set it to 480sec ... thats normally quite enough.
Furthermore look for "waitend_interval" in ifhp.conf. It was set
to 300 seconds, so no chance for the tcp connection to have some
"traffic" during printing state.
I use 30 seconds now, so that every half a minute there is some
(otherwise useless...) waitend "polling", even if the printer is in "busy" state.
Greetings
Rainer
