Hi,
I'm having trouble with LPRng in that when I use lpr to send a
document to my HP LaserJet1200 using Postscript 2. It appears that
although lpr thinks it is successfully spooling the job, the job just
disappears. This does not appear to be the same problem as described
in the LPRng HOWTO. The output from lpr is as follows:

[root@linux pub]# lpr -V test.ps
LPRng-3.8.19, Kerberos5, Copyright 1988-2002 Patrick Powell,
sending job 'root@linux+293' to laserjet@localhost
connecting to 'localhost', attempt 1
connected to 'localhost'
requesting printer laserjet@localhost
sending control file 'cfA293linux.chrisdomain' to laserjet@localhost
completed sending 'cfA293linux.chrisdomain' to laserjet@localhost
sending data file 'dfA293linux.chrisdomain' to laserjet@localhost
completed sending 'dfA293linux.chrisdomain' to laserjet@localhost
done job 'root@linux+293' transfer to laserjet@localhost
[root@linux pub]#

lpd does not appear to be able to pick up the job to forward it to the
printer:

[root@linux pub]#lpq -L

My printcap entry is: (and checkpc reckons it is ok)

laserjet:\
:sd=/var/spool/lpd:\
:af=/var/spool/lpd/hp1200.acct:\
:lp=/dev/lp0:\
:mx=0:\
:sh:\
:rw:

I have successfully printed to the printer by sending data directly to
the parallel port using: cat test.ps > /dev/lp0.

Any ideas on where I am going wrong?
