Hi, i'm currently setting up a network based printing service and i'm having some
weird problems. The basis for this network is a HP 8150 printer and a unix service
running LPRNg and some accounting scripts.
I've set up the printer with a printcap entry as follows:

  :create_files=true
  :lp=printer-09%9100
  :lf=/var/log/lpd-%P.log
:ifhp=model=hp8150,accounting=/usr/local/libexec/filters/actualizaQuotas.py
  :filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp -Tdebug=4
  :of=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp -Tdebug=4
  :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P
  :db=1
  :mc=0

Problem is sometimes the printer processes the jobs normally, but sometimes (can't
quite figure out under what circunstances) the printer just won't sync with lprng,
leaving the jobs stalled. I gather from the debuging info that ifhp spits that the
printer isn't responding to the pjl echo command.
We're using the latest firmware and jetdirect firmware.

Is it best if i set up some raw ports for the printing? Or should i use the printer
lpr service?
Can anyone give me a hand?

Cheers
