I recently installed LPRng-3.8.20 on a Tru64 V5.1 system. Everything works well except that no messages are sent to syslog. config.h shows:
#define HAVE_SYSLOG_DEF 1 #define HAVE_SYSLOG_H 1 #define HAVE_SYS_SYSLOG_H 1 I tried changing the syslog_device to /dev/log. Both "lpr -D10 filename" and "lpd -D10" show that syslog_device is changed to /dev/log, but no messages show up in the system log (I created a new entry *.debug to insure I did not miss any messages.) I haven't found any similar problems in the newsgroups and would appreciate any pointers in the right direction.
