Hi,
I have an hp4300 with a correctly configured printcap on the print server where
lpd runs. Here it is:

hp4300-1|hp4300-1.ait
        :lp=10.10.145.14%9100:
        :af=acct:
        :ar:
        :achk:
        :as=|/usr/local/libexec/filters/accounting.pl start:
        :ae=|/usr/local/libexec/filters/accounting.pl end:
        :auth=kerberos5:
        :kerberos_id=lpr/[EMAIL PROTECTED]:
        :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P:
        :bp=/usr/local/libexec/filters/psbanner:
        :filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp -Tbanner=off,waitend=ps:
        :mx#0:
        :ps=LJ:
        :pw#80:
        :pl#66:
        :done_jobs=0:
        :done_jobs_max_age=1

Now I need to be able to print to it from other systems with kerberos authentication.
What should the printcap on remote systems look like? Right now, if I do:

/usr/local/bin/lpr [EMAIL PROTECTED] /etc/passwd

the jobs falls right thru without any authentication so I presume I need to
add "auth=kerberos5" to the local printcap file plus some other things?
Do I use "rm" instead of "lp"? Sorry to ask such newbie questions...I sort of had
this project "thrown" at me.
Sly
