have a win2k client printing to a linux running lprng (3.8.20-1)
getting an error printing from win apps (such as outlook). can open
a cmd window (on win2k) and lpr successfully. win printer port is
configured as lpr, using the hp 6mp postscript driver. can print
locally from win2k to printer. and can print to an hp jetdirect (an
hp8000 ps). just not lprng!?

on linux, i see:
Mar 20 09:46:14 bench RECV[16361]: lp0: Receive_job: read from
192.168.0.4- status 0 read 17 bytes '^B129 cfA004WRENCH'
Mar 20 09:46:14 bench RECV[16361]: lp0: Receive_job: read from
192.168.0.4- status 0 read 20 bytes '^C267550 dfA004WRENCH'
Mar 20 09:46:14 bench RECV[16360]: lp0: Check_for_missing files:
FAIL 'cfA004WRENCH' missing data file 'dfA004WRENCH'

on win2k, i see:
"an error has occurred ... retry or cancel?"

retry causes another set of messages on linux but no other change.

reviewed some past postings regarding win2k and errors printing and
only found advice to try running it raw instead of lpr protocol. any
other thoughts?

thanks much.
