We've got a machine running NCR UNIX (with the default lp) that's printing to
our core print gateway which is running lprng. We don't own the NCR machine so
we can't change the lp on it to lprng.
The users need to be able to pring with "-o cpi=compressed". This is about
equivalent to -Zpitch=20 in lprng. Unforuntately, lp won't send -Z options as
it doesn't recognise them and lprng doesn't recognise the cpi=compressed or -o
cpi=20.
I've tried the following in lprng without success:
tidovrl07c:force_localhost:rp=raw:sd=/var/spool/lpd/tidovrl07c:sh:ifhp=pitch=20:if=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp:rm=10.49.1.90:lpr_bounce:

tidovrl07c:rp=raw:sd=/var/spool/lpd/tidovrl07c:sh:if=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp
-Zpitch=20:rm=10.49.1.90:lpr_bounce:
A Solaris machine I'm using for testing this has the following configuration:
tidovrl07c:\
:bsdaddr=print-gateway,tidovrl07c,Solaris:
If I print from the print gateway itself, I get the correct output, if I print
from the Solaris host, I get standard 10cpi printing.
LPRng version is 3.6.19 on Solaris 8 .
Any ideas on this would be appreciated.
