Please help. I'm new to LPRNG.
Printing to an HP8000N works fine if you don't need to select an input
tray. I've used all kinds of combinations for tray selection, and the
printer ignores all of them. I've used append_z=intray1,2,3;
Zsource=1,2,3; append_z=letterhead,prepunch; media=tabloid,etc.,
I've combined those options with variations of the ifhp printcap entry:
ifhp=model=hp8000,dev=muddps.owlnet.rice.edu%9100,pcl,ps,pjl@,ps_eof@,sync@,status@
ifhp=model=hp8000,dev=muddps.owlnet.rice.edu%9100,pjl,ps,pcl@,ps_eof@,sync@,status@
ifhp=model=hp4000,dev=muddps.owlnet.rice.edu%9100,pcl,ps,pjl@,ps_eof@,sync@,status@
ifhp=model=hp4000,dev=muddps.owlnet.rice.edu%9100,pjl,ps,pcl@,ps_eof@,sync@,status@
Nothing works.
I've used the "echo test | ifhp -Tdev=...." command that is suggested in
one of the replies on the archives, and I do see the Tray being correctly
set to either tray 1 or tray 2, but nothing else. I mean, the printer has
three trays to chose from. The third tray, the one selected by default, is
the large capacity tray at the bottom. The two trays above it have
tabloid and legal media in them, and I need to be able to select those
trays.
I'm frustrated. Please help. I'm using LPRng-3.8.21, and ifhp-3.5.10
