This depends on the software, OS version, and phase of the moon.

I have seen:

a) No multiple copy information, even though it was requested.
b) A job with N data files, each corresponding to a copy of the job
c) A job with 1 data file, and a control file with N data file
   entries.
d) N submitted print jobs.

I think that b) is most common when you are using UNIX (bsd) printing services,
and d) when you are using Samba.
