NFS is not running and not desired from our UX-Admins. In any case lpd isn't running on the client. I just made another step forward:
Clientside printcap now looks like this (and I think, I can live with that one, cause its never changing and although its nearly the same thing as the "default_remote_host" in lpd.conf): * :\ :client:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:force_localhost@ And the wonder happened, lpc status all now shows the stats of the server's printers. But still there is the filter problem (ifhp, control_filter). Especially the control_filter (they differ from printer to printer) won't be parsed, when I invoke a print request on the client. Server-side print requests are ok...
