You'll never get any page accounting information back via an LPR 
connection.  Once that job is off to the printer, there is no status 
query available in the LPD protocol.

Now, you might be able to come up with some scripts using SNMP or other
mechanisms to interrogate the printer as to whether it is finished 
printing or not.  Not for the weak-of-heart.
