When I try to 'sh ./configure' ifhp-3.5.14 for compilation, with Ghostscript 8.12 installed, I get an error

Looking at the configure script, I then tried (what I think is) the offending command manually:

# gs -q -dBATCH -dNOPAUSE -dSAFER -dPARANOIDSAFER -sDEVICE=laserjet "-sOutputFile=|cat >&3" ./gsPrint 3>gs_out

and that gave:

Error: /invalidfont in findfont

BTW, my 'pwd' and 'ls -l gs_out' showed the following results:

# pwd
/usr/local/tmp/ifhp/ifhp-3.5.14
# ls -l gs_out
-rw-r--r-- 1 root other 0 Dec 31 18:45 gs_out

I would be very grateful for any ideas where I should look to fix this. Thanx
