I have an HP LaserJet 1300N, and I've installed lprng-3.8.24 (with foomatic-rip, filters 3.0.1rc1) and ifhp-3.5.15.
My printcap entry is: lj :af=acct :cm=HP LaserJet 1300N in study :filter=/usr/local/libexec/filters/ifhp :ifhp=model=hp1300,status,sync,pagecount,waitend,ppd=/usr/local/lib/ppds/HP-LaserJet_1300-Postscript.ppd :lf=log :lprngtooloptions=FILTERTYPE="IFHP" IFHP_OPTIONS="status,sync,pagecount,waitend" PRINTERDB_ENTRY="hp1300" :mx=0 :prefix_z=1200,a4 :sd=/var/spool/lpd/%P :sh :lp=lj.lan%9100 If I print with lpr -ZEconoMode=on (postscript file) then the job is NOT printed with economode. I eventually got fed up enough to redirect the spooler output to a file, and it does contain an appropriate PJL setting. However, it also contains a ctrl-D between the PJL prologue and the PostScript data. If I remove this ctrl-D, and then netcat the resulting file directly to the printer, the file is indeed printed with economode. Should this ctrl-D be there? I don't think so. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- YOU MUST BE A LIST MEMBER IN ORDER TO POST TO THE LPRNG MAILING LIST The address you post from MUST be your subscription address If you need help, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (or lprng-requests or lprng-digest-requests) with the word 'help' in the body.
