print job halted during printting. following is the log.
OffendingCommand type of error is the only one cause problem on the print server. It doesn't
happen too often but i want to know how to avoid it.
OffendingCommand is a PostScript error generated by the printer and relayed to your server log by ifhp.
Successfully printing with a PDL (Page Description Language) like PostScript requires that the code be properly generated _and_ properly interpreted. The code has several sources: the application, the driver, the local spooler, and the remote spooler (eg. ifhp). In the case of PostScript, the interpreter is usually in the printer and is either a licensed Adobe interpreter (eg. Xerox) or what Adobe likes to call "PostScript emulation" (an interpreter written to the PostScript spec from scratch by the printer manufacturer, eg. Lexmark and HP).
The experience of many is that non-Adobe interpreters are much more likely to fail in the way you are seeing than Adobe interpreters. This may have something to do with the fact that several of the main applications which generate PostScript code come from Adobe (Acrobat Reader, Photoshop, etc.).
You can get a more complete, but usually not terribly helpful, error description by setting your printer to print PostScript error pages.
