All,
I'm pretty much brand spanking new to linux printing, and I'm trying
to use lprng as my spooler service. I have a Canon BJC-2110 using
the gimp-print driver for the BJC-2000 connected through
/dev/parport0. I'm using Slackware 9.1 with the 2.6.2 kernel. The
lprng script is found, for my distro, in /etc/rc.d and is called
rc.lprng.
When I issue "./rc.lprng start" as root, from the /etc/rc.d
directory, on the local machine I get the response,
"Permission Denied"
I've left the default values in lpd.perm and lpd.conf. I'm pretty
lost as to what might be going on. I don't really have any idea what
other information you might need from me.
Any help is appreciated.
Dave
