I have a question I just can't figure out with lprng, although I am sure it is possible. I have several printers configured on a Linux box, all in the printcap file pointing to remote lpd's on different terminal servers which run lpd. Printing works great, but the lpd on the terminal servers do not respond to lpq or lpstat requests. That is ok, because I really want the lpq to look at the queues on the Linux box anyway. That is my problem, how to set up the printcap in such a way as to have lpq/lpd show me the queues on the Linux box. I have played with the server/client flags with no luck. I have forced-local set, so all of the clients send their jobs to the Linux box, which in turns sends them to the terminal servers. Anyone have any suggestions on how/what to do ? Basically I want lpd on the Linux box to send the print to the remote lpd's, but anything other than that I want it to look locally.
