I'm running lprng 3.8.22 on Debian GNU/Linux, the testing (a.k.a "Sarge" release). I have tempXXXXXXXX files generated/lingering in each printer directory every 3-5 minutes that contain the contents of the lpd.perms file. This becomes a problem with lpd.perms being close to 0.5 MB time approx. 130 printers. It may have something to do with it, but I use scripts to generate both printcap and lpd.perms.

The only information I've found related to this was older verions of LPRng and ifhp not cleaning up after themselves in regards to filters. I wonder if a similiar problem exists here, but haven't had much luck tracking it down with the numerous calls to Make_temp_* routines within the source. Likewise, debug level of 3 shows nothing inregards to the specific temp files and anything higher just kills the server with logging I/O. Could anyone offer some insight?

Thanks,
Dennis
